Dear Minnesota,
Growing up is one of the scariest yet most exciting moments of someone's life. Through the Minnesota 4-H Program, I have received some of the best friends, skills, and opportunities of my lifetime. At my first 4-H meeting, I remember being scared of the older youth, yet they invited me into the club with open arms. As I grew up, the upperclassmen taught me and other youth skills by the way they ran meetings, networked with citizens in the community, and offered a helping hand whenever they could. As the older youth began to graduate out of 4-H, I noticed the roles became my responsibilities. After some time, I realized I was now the upperclassmen that youth look up to for help when showing livestock, learning skills of leadership, or as a friend. While I had noticed these changes within my club, I had wanted to reach a new level of leadership. I decided to develop those skills by becoming a Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador. Now I am networking with people from all over the country about 4-H programs! As a result, I get to see Minnesota youth grow up to be the future leaders of America everyday.
